 Hello Everyone,

I apologize to the people that for a long time in the Corona era, I could not publish any article related to safety for people or on any topic for you, on Blogger, for which I am sorry. In future, I will keep writing articles on good topics related to safety for people. You guys have always given me a lot of love, for which I will always be grateful.

Today, I want to talk to people on a very serious topic related to safety. Which is important for everyone to understand this subject, but at the same time it is necessary for those people who work in industries. Be it industry, oil and gas companies, chemical companies manufacturing industries construction companies. It is the responsibility of all the workers and staff who work occupational health and safety, the owners and management of the company. It is the responsibility of the company management and owners to provide some of the essential things written below, while keeping the health and safety of the people working here.

1)      To provide safe place of work

2)      To provide safe system of work

3)      Proper and maintained Equipment & instrument

4)      To provide proper Training, information, instruction to workers.

Workers shall have the right to participate in ensuring safe work conditions to extend their control over equipment’s as stated in article 10 of ILO 167. Overall, the workplace should be safe so far as low as reasonably practicable level as per article 16 of ILO C155.  All workers have to be informed and trained under the act of article 33 in ILO convention in 167 of construction safety. The company has to take measures to provide guidance to all employees and workers as to help them to comply with legal obligations as per article 10 of ILO C 155.

Taking care of occupational health and safety of all workers and staffs of the organization before any work is done at the work place by the workers, it is the responsibility of the management to know, identify and mitigate the associated hazards and risks associated with the work. Do. And if needed, find solutions to those problems. For which they have to consult the health care department in the industry such as safety specialist or safety advisor, get the advice of the coordinated experts of that task and it is also very important to involve workers in the work or to get involved because of what problems they face in their daily work. Have to do with which those people are very well aware. You will need to find solutions to these problems and it will be easy for you.

Yes, now you must have gone to the society on which subject I am talking about.

Right, I am talking about job safety analysis and job hazard analysis.

TOPIC-JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS/JOB HAZARD ANALYSIS

It is the responsibility of any person, before doing any kind of work, to take care of his own and the safety of his colleagues working together. At the same time, it is the responsibility of the company management to take appropriate plans keeping in mind the health and safety of its employees.

Before doing any job or task, manage and search for the potential of the work and the risks that are present in it, Hazards and find the best way to control and solve those problems.

In simple words, job safety analysis or job hazard analysis means that if you have to complete any job carefully, then it is necessary to find and control the hazard within it and only then that work is careful It is possible, or if it is said in other words, that the possibility of Hazard and the risk arising from it in every job or task cannot be denied and the consequences that result from it. Therefore, before starting that work, it is very important to find Hazards present in it and control it; otherwise it can be read to face serious problems which can be very dangerous and fatal.

Job Safety Analysis is a safety process in which the potential work place hazard, where identified in sequence or steps of the work to be done, then mitigating controls of all the potential hazards had been identified is to be written in the and shall be understood by all involved personnel in the work.

It basically the job of work supervisor with the participation of a safety officer to discuss a JSA with all personnel involved in a specific task or job. The development preparation of JSA shall be consisting of job supervisor, foreman, engineers, skill workers, safety officers and manager-in charge etc.

Types of job which required JHA:

1)      New jobs

2)      Jobs with procedure or process changes

3)      Close calls

4)      Jobs with high accident and injuries

5)      Jobs which past history showing high numbers of accident/incidents,fatality,injuries, compensation claim, insurance, hospitalization, loss and damages etc.

Job safety Analysis is a systematic method of identifying hazard & control measures to safety perform a specific task or job.

A JSA is a procedure to make a job safe by

«  Identifying the hazard or potential accidents with each step of job.

«  Developing a solution for each hazard that will either eliminate or control the exposure.

«  Some jobs steps may have to hazards associated with them but other job steps may be an accompanied by one or more hazards.

«  Once the job hazards are known, proper solution can be developed.

«  Some solutions may be physical change that controls the hazard such as placing a guard over exposed moving machine parts, other may be job procedure that eliminate or minimize the hazards. E.g. safe pilling of materials.

«  JSA is helpful in discovering elimination or safe guarding of motions, positions and action that are hazardous.

Process of job safety analysis:-

Ø  Breaking down a job into steps or sequences

Ø  Identifying safety hazards at each step.

Ø  Developing safe job procedure for each step.

STEPS 1 – Select the job

STEP 2 - Perform the analysis

STEP 3 - Identified hazard

STEP 4 – Develop solutions

STEP 5 – Conduct a follow-up analysis

STEP 6 – Use of the job safety analysis

STEP 7 – Recordkeeping.

Control Measures/preventive measures:

Once you select the job and identified the hazards present in that particular job, control/preventive measures are most important factor to control that hazards which are present in that Task.

Control measures are use on the basis of Hierarchy of Controls or use can say ERICPD.

E-Eliminate

R-Reduce/Substitute

I-Isolate

C-Control

PPE-Personal Protective Equipment

D-Discipline.

Benefits of job hazard analysis:

1)      Reduce Absenteeism

2)      Increase productivity

3)      Reduce Accident

4)      Reduce Injuries

5)      Increase Moral

6)      Protect employees

7)      Assist in standard specific compliance (eg. Personal protective equipment)
